I really enjoy videography and photography, and this page showcases some of the videos I've created and photos I've captured along the way.
I created this video with hand-drawn animation, which earned an Honorable Mention award in The New York Times 15th Annual Summer Reading Contest 2024, based on my response to a New York Times article about the possibility of building a thriving civilization on Mars. Inspired by my passion for space exploration, which began with the game Kerbal Space Program, I carefully crafted each frame to bring my ideas to life. The animation explores the challenges and potential of reaching Mars and what such a monumental achievement could mean for humanity. This video reflects my passion for storytelling through both art and writing, blending these mediums to engage and inspire a wider audience.
I created this video with hand-drawn animation as the demo for my recent 2024 NASA Space Apps Challenge submission. In this project, I developed sustainable energy potential maps for solar, wind, and geothermal potentials across counties on the U.S. West Coast, highlighting areas with the highest potential for sustainable energy development. This video demonstrates potential usage scenarios, emphasizes the impacts of these energy potential maps, and aims to inspire general interest in sustainable energy while educating the audience on how it can benefit our community.
I created this demo video for my 2023 NASA Space Apps Challenge submission, which received the Global Nominee Award. For this project, I developed an educational role-playing game (RPG) that tells the story of the exploration and habitation of Titan in the year 3023. My team began by creating a comic about an astronaut and a robot assistant working together to build Astrocivitas, the first city on Titan. Based on the comic’s characters and storyline, I designed a role-playing video game that allows players to explore the challenges of settling on Titan in an interactive way, and crafted this video to showcase our project.
"Snoqualmie Falls in Fall". This photo won 1st Place in the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) Earth Science Week Photography Contest. I took this photo at the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Plant, located in Snoqualmie, Washington. It depicted the many uses of Earth materials—in the buildings, the power plant, the natural setting, and more.
"Sunset at Meydenbauer Bay Park". I took this photo at Meydenbauer Bay Park in my community, located in Bellevue, Washington. It depicted water as a resource: people were having fun with water by rowing stand-up paddle boards, sailing, boating, fishing, etc. Water in Meydenbauer Bay also served as a habitat for birds, fishes, and plants. This photo won Finalist in the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) Earth Science Week Photography Contest.
